PROCESS DOCTOR We have helped restore various Optical Coating processes to health, and develop new ones. If you have a process which is less than reliable or satisfactory, perhaps we can help. Contact Us! ----------------------------------------------------- Very experienced in practical thin films design and process development, application of industrial Design Of Experiments methodology (DOE), optical systems development and tolerancing, ion/plasma source application, seminars and in-house short courses. Member of the Optical Society of America for five decades, and experienced in optical system and coating development and production. Consulted for over 30 years with many divisions of General Electric, Martin, General Motors, etc. Has served as an expert forensic witness for optical systems and coating litigations. Mr. Willey has recently published the two (2) book series: Practical Design of Optical Thin Films, Second Edition and Practical Production of Optical Thin Films Practical Equipment, Materials, and Processes for Optical Thin Films He is also the author of the books: Practical Monitoring and Control of Optical Thin Films, Second Edition, Practical Design and Production of Optical Thin Films and Field Guide to Optical Thin Films. Please see Books Note: it is sometimes beneficial to have a seminar or short course in your facility for the benefit of multiple members of your group on subjects such as optical coating design, monitoring, and/or materials and process aspects of optical coatings; or optical system design, tolerancing, and/or production. We can provide such seminars tailored to the specific needs of your organization. This could also be done in conjunction with consulting on some specific need. From time to time, we have provided seminars under the auspices of SPIE, SVC, the Fraunhofer Institute, the Optical Society of India, and the University of Wisconsin. New seminars will also be announced here. This site is a source of expertise and information in the form of consulting, papers, book, seminars, and courses on the subjects of optical thin films, optical system and lens design, and tolerancing for minimum production costs. This includes expert forensic witness, design and development of optical thin films and systems, hardware for ion assisted deposition (IAD), and the application of Design of Experiments methodology to efficient process development.
